Fourth
Grade Trip to the Albufera
(written
by 4th grade students)
The Albufera is in El Saler. It is a wonderful place to visit. We went
there in October, and we enjoyed it a lot.
First,
we went by bus to El Saler. When we finished our snacks we divided into
groups, and we were assigned a monitor. There were eight monitors, three
teachers and 50 children. Then we took a walk by the river and entered the
fish shops. After that, we walked some more and looked at the
“barracas” (typical houses in the area). The monitors told us that
what is now a forest was a beach many years ago, so the soil is very sandy.
We took a walk by a forest that was near the train tracks. Then we played
a game. Later we ate sandwiches, and then we went home.
Now
in our Social Studies class, we are making our own “barracas” with Ms.
Elena. We are using clay, glue and straw.
