Waterloo Mathematics Competition 2012


ASV students participated in a mathematics competition created by the
Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing at the University of
Waterloo in Canada. The Grade 9 students wrote the Pascal contest,
the 10th grade students wrote the Cayley contest and the 11th grade wrote
the Fermat contest. In May the 7th and 8th grade students wrote the Gauss  
contest. Over 60 ASV students in total wrote the exams. Worldwide,
nearly 80,000 students wrote the contests and we are proud to say that
many of our students were recognized for their scores.  Students who
score in the top 25% of all participants earn a certificate and the top
scoring student in each school earns a medal (provided they exceed a
certain point total).  The medals and certificates were presented to the
students at the high school Awards Assembly. We would like to
congratulate these students as well as all the students who participated
in the contest, on their accomplishment and dedication to mathematical
excellence.
