The High School Library is a large open space which provides students with both individual and group working stations. Over 20 computers with internet capabilities are available to students who log on to student user profiles provided by the school. The library is also a WiFi zone within the school.
In the High School Library students have at their disposal a suite of online research databases provided by EBSCOhost, as well as the ability to search the entire publication run of Spanish-language magazines such as La Aventura de la Historia and Descubrir el Arte, which have been fully indexed by the Library staff. The High School Library book collection is added to every day, with more than a quarter of the current circulating collection having been purchased in the last five years. There is a good balance of English and Spanish language books in the attempt to support all disciplines, and the Library’s acquisition policy aims always to support the research and educational needs of its students and teachers. This year, ASV has replaced its Library automation system with Follett Destiny, and the catalogue will be available online very soon.
In the Elementary Library students have access to a range of books for independent reading, or to use for researching for various projects. The space also has a SmartBoard for instructional-based activities for the students.
