Bringing Humor to Ceramics
9th Grade Art Opening
The 9th grade art students proudly celebrated the opening of their ceramic exhibit on Oct. 24th. Using Pablo Picasso as inspiration the students transformed ordinary domestic objects into art. Picasso was the first artist to creatively combine painting with ordinary ceramic vessels. Functional objects like pots, bowls, cups, vases, and mugs were changed into very funny creative sculptures. Using the coil method the students constructed functional pottery that was then painted and transform into funny birds, insects, people, and imaginary characters.
